About Us

Worthington Federal Bank traces its history back to 1989 with the founding of Worthington Mortgage Group. We became one of the few locally headquartered community financial institutions upon receiving our Federal Thrift charter in May 2007. Our first branch opened in July 2007 and we moved into our new state-of-the-art headquarters building in October 2009. Worthington Federal Bank also expanded its main campus in opening a Commercial Banking Center in March of 2012, focusing on meeting the needs of small business and commercial clients.

The vision of Worthington Federal Bank is for our clients to feel "connected" to their finances. This word means different things to each client . . . "connected" through technology, "connected" through personal relationships with bankers, "connected" through financial management tools that are easy to utilize, "connected" through customer service representatives that know and understand your needs, "connected" through a community bank, "connected" through the community as a whole, or "connected" through access to your finances when you need them. These connections allow our clients to experience "Community Banking for the 21st Century!"

We believe that our customers want and deserve prompt and personal services delivered by employees who have the authority and initiative to make quick and reasonable decisions about your unique situation. You will never communicate with a machine or call center from another part of the world, but only with our well trained staff.

The bank is regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (the "OCC") and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (the "FDIC"). Deposit accounts are insured up to the regulatory limits by the FDIC.
